Eng.Amir Muqam MNA & Senior Vice President PML (N)
Amir Muqam;(born Puran, Shangla District July 25, 1963) is a Pakistani politician, elected in 2002 as Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan (MNA) on Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) coalition seat. He was a member the Jamaat-e-Islami party. After being elected, he changed his party and joined the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), the ruling party at that time. While being part of the federal government, he remained Minister of State for Water and Power and Federal Minister for Political Affairs. In that duration, he managed to get some funds from the federal government for the development of his constituency Shangla which has the second lowest Human Development Index in the country. He also worked for undeveloped places in NA-4 Peshawar, Swat, Hazra, Malakand, Mardan, Swabi in all Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province. His contributions are provision of electricity and telephone networks, Gas and social development of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Cadet College in Swat. [1] Before being elected as MNA, he was Nazim of Union Council Bengalai, Puran. He has also remained General Secretary of Cantonment Association, Swat and member of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of Pakistan. He tooke part from NA-4 Peshawar, PF-85 Swat and NA-31 Shangla. He was re-elected in the general elections of 2008 with big majority votes from NA-31 Shangla.
Eng.Amir Muqam holds a B.Sc. Engineering degree from the University of Engineering and Technology (Peshawar). He is father of four sons and two daughters and has traveled to Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, U.K, Russia, Ukraine and Nepal.
